Mary was born on September 2, 1931 in Peoria, IL. She was the 4th child, ond only daughter of Joe and Dorothy Trefzger.
Mary attended grade school at Glen Oak School, and high school at Woodruff High.
On March 3, 1957 she married Mark Hurd in the First Presbyterian Church. Her brother John Trefzger officiated.
On their honeymoon they went to Florida and flew to Cuba.
Mark was a pilot in the U.S. Air Force. Several months after they were married Mary had the oppertunity to talk to Mark by phone a few minutes one day while he flew over the area. What she didn't know was that her phone conversation was patched through the Air Force Base and that her entire conversation went out over the loug speaker.
After Mark left the Air Force he and Mary bought a restaurant. Later they opened Hurd Realty. They worked together until they retired.
Mark and Mary love to travel and to dance. Since they joined the Willow Knolls Country Club in 1976 Mary has enjoyed golfing.
