'Chuck' or 'Charlie' was born on October, 26, 1920 in St. Francis Hospital, Peoria, IL. On June 15, 1946 he married Betty Yuhas.
Chuck went to St. Mark's Grade School for 8 years and then to Spalding High School. He graduated from St. Ambrose College. He met Betty when he was in high school.
Chuck served 3 years in the Army during WW11. He was a Code and Cipher Clerk stationed in the Phillipines.
After the war he sold office furniture and supplies. Later he was the Illinois state represenative for Travelers Association for 30 years.
For as long as I can remember Chuck was an avid stamp collector. His stamp collection was tremendous.

Comment:
We felt very close to the Trefzers and Bourscheidts in Peoria.
Mom and Dad would stay overnight in Peoria when they lived in Chicago and would drive to and from Cincinnati the first couple of years they were married. We often visited Peoria when I was young.
Chuck was 5 1/2 years older than I was.
When I was young he stimulated my interest in stamp colecting.
Chuck collected new or unused stamps in singles, blocks of four and full sheets of USA stamps. He also collected used or cancelled stamps from the USA and from other countries from around the world. He was also interested in and collected commemorating cards and first day issues on cards and envelopes.
See the link to the 'post card'. It is a commemotative card of the Col. Chas. A. Lindbergh visit to Peoria in 1928. Chuck was just over 7 years old and I was under 2 years old.
