Louisa was the 9th child of 10 born to Martin and Katherine Trefzger. Martin, his wife and 5 children had immigrated fron Wehr, Baden in 1852.They settled in Frailey township in Schuylkill county, Pennsylvania. The Post Office was Donaldson, PA.
Louisa was born in July 4,1861.
In 1883 Louisa married John A. Chalfant. They had 4 children: Bertran A. Chalfant (1884-1935), John A. Chalfant (1867-1930), Helen Chalfant (1896-1897), Miriam Evelyn Chalfant (1900-1956)
Louise died on December 29,1934 in Nashvill, TN.

in October 2009 Bertram Chalfant, Jr. called from Tennessee and said that his great grandfather John A. Chalfant married Luisa (born 1851) or Louisa Trefzger (born 1861), daughters of Martin Trefzger. We were able to find a 1900 census record that showed John A. Chalfant married Louisa (born 1861). Her name was listed as Founa F. Chalfant.
