Theresia Trefzger born December 5,1817 was the 6th child of Martin and Roberta Trefzger in Wehr, Baden. On July 13,1840 she married Franz Joseph Felber. Franz Joseph was born on October 1,1809. Franz Joseph's father Xavier Felber had married Franciska Trefzger.
Franz Joseph and Theresia had 8 children (2 girls and 6 boys).
The third child and first boy Franz Joseph born in 1846 married Eva Schwartz in Wehr. On October 30,1868 they had a son they named Thomas. On April 3,1870 the little family emmigrated to the United States from Bremen to New York on the 'Donou'.
Daughters: Rosina, Lene, Margarete and Marie were all born in the U.S..
In 1875 Joseph and Eva bought 80 acres in Minnisota. In the 1900 census son Thomas lived in Burr Oak, Mitchell County, Iowa.
On January 17,1903 Thomas married Nina Ritter Rolfe. Nina had been married before to a man named David Rolfe. Nina had a son Lloyd Rolfe born 12/19/1896 and died 12/27/1896, then a son Floyd born in 1897, and Lois born in 1899. Her husband David died 11/4/1900. Nina was pregnant and had a girl Eva Maude Rolfe who died of appendisitis on 9/7/1910.
Thomas and Nina had 11 children between 1904 and 1922. In the 1930 census used the name 'Felber'. But when he returned to Iowa he used the name 'Felper". Nina died on February 25,1931.
